Mr Crazy Monster Jump was TapGames' take on the fast, reflex-driven arcade jumper — simple to grasp, surprisingly tense to master. You play a little block-monster hopping across a row of towering candy-coloured pillars, and every gap is different. Short jump or long jump? You've got a split second to choose, because there's a saw bearing down from the left, and hesitation means it catches you.
That single, snappy decision — tap for a short hop, commit to a long one — is the whole game, and it's what made it so moreish. The towers never line up the same way twice, so you're reading each gap on the fly, building a rhythm, and pushing for one more jump than last time. A best-score and last-score always sat in the corner, daring you to beat yourself.
It had personality, too. A whole cast of goofy block-monsters — grinning, grumpy, sleepy, cheeky — could be unlocked and chosen as your character, with new monsters added over time. Bright, bouncy, and endlessly restartable, it was pure pick-up-and-play arcade fun.
Released in 2016, Mr Crazy Monster Jump is no longer available, but it remains a fun chapter in the TapGames story — a small, fast, characterful game that captured exactly the kind of playful craft the studio loves to make.
